Experience the Excitement: Silver Wave Film Festival Program Launch!
Mark your calendar! On Thursday, October 16th at noon, join the thrilling kickoff of the 25th Silver Wave Film Festival at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre Auditorium in Fredericton. Be among the first to discover the spectacular lineup—this event is open to everyone, and delicious refreshments await!
The Film Co-op has been supporting filmmaking in the province since 1979, and the festival draws its inspiration from New Brunswick’s extraordinary and diverse collection of films,” says Film Co-op Executive Director Tony Merzetti.
While local filmmakers are at the heart of Silver Wave, the festival dazzles audiences with a visual feast of both homegrown and international films. “The program launch is an electrifying gathering—filmmakers, film lovers, and newcomers alike come together to share in the excitement and connect with the creative community," says festival Head Programmer Tracey Lavigne.
This 25th anniversary launch is a can’t-miss celebration of New Brunswick’s film scene. Get ready for the exclusive premiere of the 2025 Silver Wave promo trailer—an exhilarating montage offering a sneak peek at the cinematic gems headed your way. Silver Wave runs November 6th through 13th, 2025, all in-person in Fredericton.
The Festival would not be possible without its major sponsors and supporters:

Note: Your passes get you into everything Silver Wave (screenings, events, parties) but be sure to get to screenings at least 30 min in advance in case screenings sell out. Show your pass to the ticket folks and they will give you a comp ticket to enter the theatre.
SWFF prioritizes selection of films that have not been distributed theatrically or broadcast on television in the Atlantic region, made available publicly online, or screened publicly in Fredericton prior to the Festival. Although sometimes exceptions may be made, in most cases such submissions will not be considered.
