Message from the Executive Director NB Filmmakers’ Co-operative As Executive Director of the New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-operative, I am delighted to invite filmmakers and film lovers to the 8th annual Silver Wave Film Festival. This year’s line-up is guaranteed to dazzle the senses. We are proud that the festival represents many of the cultures present in the community: Aboriginal, French, Anglophone, Latino and more. Filmmaking in New Brunswick is thriving. More and more independent filmmakers are realizing personal visions in storytelling, and the festival exists to showcase their amazing work. Be sure to check out the many filmmakers in attendance during the week. In addition to the many screenings, there are ample opportunities to network, schmooze and have fun. I would like to acknowledge the hard work of the Co-op’s staff Board of Directors and volunteers who make it happen. Message from the NB Film Co-op President The New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-operative is proud to present another stellar year of films, galas and workshops that are sure to entertain and delight film lovers young and old. The Festival is now entering into its 8th year. This year’s line up promises to inject vibrancy into the Fredericton community and bring laughs, thrills and sorrow to audiences everywhere. The Festival continues to promote diversity in filmmaking and we continue to partner with community and multicultural groups in New Brunswick including the Latino Association of NB and the Multicultural Association of NB. New to this year’s Festival is our strong partnership with the Francophone community at the Centre communautaire Sainte-Anne. Each year the Silver Wave Film Festival has grown tremendously and this year is certainly no exception. The Festival could not be achieved without the hard work and support of the staff, board of directors, organizers, sponsors and the many volunteers who bring such an abundance of energy and dedication year after year! Most importantly, the Festival could not be successful without YOU – the viewing audience! Celebrate the magic that is film in New Brunswick. I look forward to seeing everyone out at the festival!
